For see, the day of the LORD is coming—the terrible day of his fury and fierce anger. The land will be made desolate, and all the sinners destroyed with it. [Isaiah 13.9]
Say what one will about God, the Old Testament or New Testament, the Law or Grace, it seems important to know from Isaiah's prophecy here that God, the LORD -Yahweh, is capable of dreadful anger.
Those not found in God's favor have absolutely no reason to believe "everything will be alright."
But I do.
So, what is important to me since I do not have to dread the anger of God? It is to share the Way I have been privileged to know wherein is found God's love and not His anger.
Father, I find comfort in knowing You today. However, I see potential for a LOT of people to ultimately see another side of You that will ultimately result in their complete and eternal demise. They are outside of Your Kingdom, oppressed and in need of a Savior. Give me eyes to see and ears to hear and a heart to understand how I might persuade them to accept Your invitation to come into Your Kingdom.
