Will We Do These Things?

2 Timothy 4.5: "But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don't be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you."

Paul has these simple words of instruction for Timothy in today's reading. Can we apply these to our lives today? Can we get to that place of a "clear mind" by discarding and avoiding the further clutter of busy-ness? Can we overcome the fear of suffering for our faith? Can we work with singleness of mind at telling others the Good News? Can we fully carry out the ministry God has given us?

"Can we do these things," is not the question we should ask though. The question we should all ask ourselves is this, "Will we do these things?"

Lord, I know I CAN do the things outlined in 2 Timothy 4.5. But, Lord, I know I must WILL to do these things in order to accomplish them. I fail so much. Please help me.
