Then the LORD gave this message to Solomon: “Concerning this Temple you are building, if you keep all my decrees and regulations and obey all my commands, I will fulfill through you the promise I made to your father, David. I will live among the Israelites and will never abandon my people Israel.” [1 Kings 6.11-13]
God is a God of Promise. "If" and "then" are very much a part of God's vocabulary.
You know, it is the same way with faith. Jesus spoke of, "...if you believe..."
With God, there are ALWAYS conditions to be met. It is pure foolishness to think one can haphazardly come to God with no consideration for a sinful life. Likewise, it is pure foolishness for one to think that God just blesses everyone with an eternity in heaven without condition.
"If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves and pray..."
"If you obey..."
"If you believe..."
There ARE conditions to be met.
Father, I want to learn more. I know I don't meet most of the conditions You require, but I do want to believe. I know every other condition will be met as I am in Christ and Your Spirit is in me.
