In the story of the two prostitutes and their dispute over the identity of a living child, Solomon's wisdom is unparalleled.
Even though Solomon's solution to the women's problem was rather non-conventional, it certainly revealed the true mother's love. Herein we see the love of God.
God gave His only Son to redeem us unto Himself. God willingly accepted the loss of Jesus like the true mother of the child in today's story did. Interestingly enough, in both cases, it was that the chosen child might live - truly live.
True Godly love gives.
Father, help me to think about the love-that-gives seen in today's story. Help me to see that this love is the only true love.
