The craftsmen made beautiful sacred garments of blue, purple, and scarlet cloth—clothing for Aaron to wear while ministering in the Holy Place, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. [Exodus 39.1]
In today's One Year Chronological Bible reading, the Tabernacle is described. It is quite elaborate and expensive. In fact, the priests uniform is perhaps the most elaborate article involved with coming into God's presence.
If God today is indeed the same God that Aaron and the priests came before in painstaking detail, what does this say about how modern believers (now a kingdom of priests) worship God?
Arguably, the Spirit of God lives within believers today. But it is still the same God, right?
And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. [Galatians 3.27]
Jesus is God in the flesh, right? This would be the same God Aaron and the priests took great care to come before.
Is there a disconnect in the modern Church about God's presence? I'm just asking for a friend...
Father, Your presence is priceless. Help us to value Your presence, Your Spirit, and Your Son, accordingly. So be it.
