Parable Of The Sower

Then Jesus said to them, “If you can’t understand the meaning of this parable, how will you understand all the other parables? [Mark 4.13]

I don't want to make something out of nothing, but is not Jesus implying here that the parable of the sower is the basis for understanding all the other parables?

We know from the article Where Is Your Foundation? a couple days ago how important it is to "build" our spiritual life (house) on a firm foundation. It sounds like Jesus is establishing order for understanding His Word too. The parable of the sower is the foundation for understanding all the other parables.

So, how important is the parable of the sower? We can only conclude from the Word that it is indeed paramount and worthy of as much attention to understanding as we can give it.

Father, help us to understand that the parable of the sower is critical to our spiritual growth.
