God's Pursuit Of Us Is Real

God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. [1 John 4.9-10]

The perfect Christmas scripture! And, it goes perfectly with another scripture that was highlighted to me recently:

You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. [John 15.16]

God's pursuit of us is real.

God's commission for us is to pursue others as He does - that is real too.

For all the times as we have heard it said, "I just don't know what God wants me to do..." we should think of these two passages. They give us a clear picture of God's will for all our lives: to show that we understand God's love for us by loving others (the lasting fruit) following Jesus' example.

Merry Christmas!

Father, may we all be found living "Christ" in this fallen world in which we live. May our lives mirror Jesus in every way. So be it.

Amen my brother Greg, I couldn’t agree more. Why the continual questions He’s told us what to do. We just have to choose to obey or not. It’s simple that your Father.
