Perfection In Christ

But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect. [Matthew 5.48]

How in the world are we supposed to be perfect?

In Christ. There simply is no other way.

All the stuff Jesus was preaching in the Sermon on the Mount is impossible to any normal human being. Anyone who would even think otherwise is deceived.

The necessity for us to be "in Christ" and "Christ in us" is paramount. There is no day - no circumstance - where we do not need to be in Christ.

Here is where modern ideology falls completely apart too... All the focus today on "self" is ludicrous when compared to Matthew 5.48. Attention to "self" must necessarily ignore perfection! A society focused on self will never "be perfect" by the standard of God as Jesus articulated. "But hey, if everyone's doing it..." is situational ethics and is a damning spiritual disease among humanity.

Perfection is the standard. Christ Jesus is the only way.

Father, may we be found in Christ! May our every effort every day be to be in Christ.
