Repent

Seek the LORD, all who are humble, and follow his commands. Seek to do what is right and to live humbly. Perhaps even yet the Lord will protect you—protect you from his anger on that day of destruction. [Zephaniah 2.3]

Zephaniah's prophecy against Judah should serve as a warning to us today.

The more I try to understand what the LORD is saying at this time in history, the more I believe a great falling away is upon us. However, I also believe there is a great revival at the same time.

How can this be?

It is simple: the enormous "grey area" the alleged Church has occupied is dissipating before our eyes. Persecution has stepped up its activity here in the west. A scriptural separation of the "sheep and goats" has begun.

The good news is, that the glory of God will shine ever brighter against the darkening backdrop of fallen human society. But that glory will not rest upon the fence-riders. The difference will be in the practice or neglect of repentance as Zephaniah described in simple terms above.

If ever there was a time to repent, today is that time. And, our repentance today should be keenly aware of the problem for which Judah was called upon to repent: idolatry.

Father, Forgive us for trusting the world and its systems instead of You. Forgive us for trusting the world and its systems more than You. Forgive us for trusting the world and its systems along with You. Forgive us for trusting the world and its systems but giving You credit. Forgive us for trusting the world and its systems at all.
