LORD, hear my prayer! Listen to my plea! Don’t turn away from me in my time of distress. Bend down to listen, and answer me quickly when I call to you. [Psalm 102.1-2]
As much as I am made to feel ashamed when I get distressed by well-meaning "faith people," the Psalms record many instances of acknowledging distress before God by crying out to Him.
I think the Psalms teach us to cry out to God, whether we are in distress or in great joy. The main thing is that we turn to God! We should take it to God and no one else.
