The Love of God

Then the LORD said to me, “Go and love your wife again, even though she commits adultery with another lover. This will illustrate that the LORD still loves Israel, even though the people have turned to other gods and love to worship them.” [Hosea 3.1]

What would we do without God's love and mercy? He is so faithful and kind.

Even in our faithless spiritual condition (likened to spiritual prostitutes), trusting in ourselves, our manufacturing and technology, our knowledge and money, our science and medicine, God remains loving and merciful toward us, continually wooing us to Himself and away from pending disaster. Yet, God sent and set Jesus as a permanent declaration of His enduring love for all, drawing us away from our unrequited love affair with the world and its ways, calling us to simply repent for our faithlessness and instead to love and trust Him alone.

It is unthinkable the betrayal God is willing to forgive if we only humble ourselves and repent. His grace truly is amazing.

Father, I have nothing but praise today for Your loving-kindness and tender mercies toward me. Forgive my prostitution with the world and its ways - teach me the way of faith in Christ alone!
