In God's prophecy about Babylon's doom, we see a universal fact about God: He hates pride.
Pride is at the root of every human sin. Pride is the very attitude Satan displayed in the Garden of Eden when he asked Eve, "Has God really said...?"
It is at the point when we look at what God has said, and then question it instead of simply obeying it that pride has already taken its toll.
Wow, that is deep.
Father, help me to consider Your Word as final authority and regard my reasoning as dung.
