Then the king said, “Do not kill the child, but give him to the woman who wants him to live, for she is his mother!” [1 Kings 3.27]
It seems so simple. And yet, the power of true love clearly defined the rightful mother of the living child. Hers was not a selfish love, but one that wanted what was best for the child.
This story serves as a lesson for us I believe. It helps us to understand that true love not only precedes right decisions, but is also selfless.
Is it not prudent to see then that wisdom and love are never found far from one another?
Father, help me to base decisions in my life on selfless true love. Then I shall know that my decisions will be right.
