I Think It Means...

When the people saw how long it was taking Moses to come back down the mountain, they gathered around Aaron. “Come on,” they said, “make us some gods who can lead us. We don’t know what happened to this fellow Moses, who brought us here from the land of Egypt.” [Exodus 32.1]

Human reasoning. As reasonable as it may sound, the outcome is always a disaster.

The apostle Paul gave clear insight into to problem of human reasoning and the need to overcome it:

We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. [2 Corinthians 10.3-5]

If God has spoken something, it should be our command to protect what was spoken with every fiber of our being, but without human reasoning

What God has said does not need our interpretation of it!

Father, forgive me to "interpreting" what You have said in Your Word to what I think it means.
