Put Others First

But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love. [Jude 20-21]

1. Build each other up in faith.

2. Pray in the power of the Holy Spirit.

3. Wait for mercy.

Here is Jude's recipe for staying safe in God's love.

I find it interesting that the first item of action involves others. Wouldn't it seem logical that praying in the power for the Holy Spirit should come before building up others?

But Jesus' teaching about putting others first, comes through loud and clear with Jude's message.

I would think that with Jesus' example and Jude's priority, we might glean an important life-lesson about putting others first.

Father, help us to quit our self-centeredness and dimply put others first... first.
