Here is the Gospel message Jesus said would be preached! There is forgiveness of sins...
It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem: ‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.’ [Luke 24.47]
No doubt, the Church needs to focus on this message.
I know there is a need for all the studies and books available to Christians today. However, if the quest for knowledge usurps the spreading of the message of forgiveness, all is meaningless! WE need to keep the main thing the main thing!
People need the message of forgiveness. More than anything else, we need to understand that Christ came to forgive - not to judge.
God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. [John 3.17]
Father, help us to remain focused on the simple Gospel message of forgiveness of sins for all who repent!
