Tabernacle (Think Intercession)

On the day Moses set up the Tabernacle, he anointed it and set it apart as holy. He also anointed and set apart all its furnishings and the altar with its utensils. [Numbers 7.1]

Directly related to my post yesterday (Kingdom Work - Kingdom Clothes), today we see that the Tabernacle was set apart as holy.

As I sit here in my office in my house this day writing this, having first spent time in prayer - most of which was intercession for people, I am confident that the/a "place of intercession" is holy. Not ironically, as I was praying today, I sensed this holiness but did not recognize what I was experiencing until just the moment of this writing.

What my takeaway from this is that our place and time of intercession should be viewed with reverence because it is indeed the place and time where the work of God is taking place. Jesus, who's custom was to "often withdraw to pray" (Luke 5.16), knew without doubt when He faced the needs of the people, that those needs had already been met in His time of intercession that preceded the circumstance. I see this as why Jesus never seemed doubtful or hesitant even when He encountered death.

It is in the time of intercession, in our holy set-apart time and place, that we learn of God - His nature - His ways. His Word reveals Him clearly and, in early intercession, He speaks to our hearts and guides our steps for the day that is upon us. He fine tunes our perception of His will for those we pray for and prepares us to fulfil our part of that will. In this holy time and place of prayer, our faith is activated and we are prompted to the good works ahead (2 Thessalonians 1.11). It is the work of God. It is the work of the Kingdom.

The Bible descriptions of the Tabernacle, with all its detail and extravagance, heralds loudly and clearly that the time and place of intercession is holy. In fact, it reveals that there is no more holy time and place than the time and place of intercession because God loves the world and wants every person from every tongue, tribe, and nation to enjoy fellowship with Him. And, that is the mission - the work of God.

Jesus' practice of intercession (a holy time and place of prayer) gave Him the confidence to say this:

“The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the LORD’s favor has come.” [Luke 4.18-19]

Our practice of intercession will give us the same confidence.

Father, I want to recognize the place and time of intercession as You see it. Then, I want to act upon it as Jesus demonstrated!

Thanks so much for your words of insight and encouragement for intercessory prayer. I think that’s like you said hugely about intercessory prayer. Just like on the beaches in the Caribbean. The listing that was prayed over and then interacted with. That’s where we are today. This is our mission field. Today in the day for that prayer. We can go to work and play volleyball after our time with the Lord and go and minister in our free time the rest of our day. I know just as you receive insight and clear discernment as to what’s needed, we must step up to the plate and be obedient. Follow where the Holy Spirit is leading us and live in faith to where Je takes us. Intercessory prayer is one of the most Christlike things we could ever do. They say we must follow in His footsteps, we’ll if we’re never on our knees of obedience and submission to Almighty God on behalf of others then we missed the first of what Jesus done often. Thank you brother for your words, this is a call to arms and those arms are the words of the Father lives by the Son encouraged by the Holy Spirit. Our victory our nation’s victory is in the bender knee. Love ya brother. God Bless.
