Most Holy

“These are the instructions for the guilt offering. It is most holy. [Leviticus 7.1]

One would think, with the wording above, that there would be no other offering described "most holy." But, in fact, other offerings are described in the same way ("most holy").

So, "most holy" obviously does not qualify the offerings in order of importance compared to each other, but instead qualifies the offerings into classes of holiness, "most holy" being the highest class of holiness. The enclosed area for the Ark of the Covenant carried the designation "most holy."

This is important to understand because the use of the words "most holy" involve the circumstances of Tabernacle Service. In other words, the business of Redemption is no joke in God's sight! With this in mind, we should consider the work of Redemption today with as much reverence.

Redemption was the work of the priests, the work of Jesus, and is our work today. Jesus said it like this:

It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem: ‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.’ [Luke 24.47]

The work of Redemption is most holy. It deserves much thought and care.

Father, help me to better understand today that the work of Redemption deserves my most revered attention, because it is Your work into which I have been enlisted.
