Job 15-18
If I am to 'take my own medicine' of how to understand the book of Job, then I must remember when reading the story that, in the end, God said the three friends (Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar) did not speak accurately about God like Job did. However, their rebuke by God (spoken by God directly to Eliphaz) was nothing compared to the tongue lashing Job received first!
So, I find it difficult to discern in all that is said by Job and his friends what is good and what is not good. Some of it certainly seems 'quote-worthy' but some of it seems out of place in the life of a servant of God.
Father, help me to understand Job's story.
