Stay With Jesus

Together they will go to war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will defeat them because he is Lord of all lords and King of all kings. And his called and chosen and faithful ones will be with him.” [Revelation 17.14]

Because I struggle to comprehend all there is to know about the Revelation of John, I am purposefully cautious about making dogmatic statements regarding it. However, like my post yesterday, today, I am focusing on a passage that carries universal truth regardless of the context in which it was made.

Revelation 17.14 reveals universal truth about Jesus: First, He has enemies who war against Him. The next truth evident in this passage is that Jesus is victorious over His enemies. They may wage war, but they will be defeated!

Then, the last part of Revelation 17.14 gives universal hope to followers of Christ: They will be with Him! What does that mean? Well, it means when He is attacked, they are attacked. But it also means that when He is victorious, they are victorious!

The 'moral of the story' is this: Stay with Jesus.

Father, help believers everywhere be strengthened and encouraged to stay with Jesus for, in Him, there is always victory.
