God Is No Idol

The whole human race is foolish and has no knowledge! The craftsmen are disgraced by the idols they make, for their carefully shaped works are a fraud. These idols have no breath or power. Idols are worthless; they are ridiculous lies! On the day of reckoning they will all be destroyed. But the God of Israel is no idol! He is the Creator of everything that exists, including his people, his own special possession. The LORD of Heaven’s Armies is his name! [Jeremiah 51.17-18]

The sooner God's people figure this out the better.

If we remind ourselves constantly that anything man makes and then trusts in is an idol we will begin to understand and truly believe that God is our everything.

God is no fabrication of man! God is no idol! He is God and there is no other.

To trust in anything or anyone besides God is idolatry. And, we must remember that God does not allow diluted or blended trust.

“I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my glory to anyone else, nor share my praise with carved idols. [Isaiah 42:8]

I will rescue you for my sake— yes, for my own sake! I will not let my reputation be tarnished, and I will not share my glory with idols! [Isaiah 48:11]

If God says He is our Healer, then He alone is our Healer! The glory (credit for doing or being something) is not something God is willing to share.

He said, “If you will listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and keeping all his decrees, then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.” [Exodus 15.26]

The Bible is VERY CLEAR about all this. It is man who has confused himself with his own doctrines which are nothing more than pitiful attempts to justify his faithless and powerless condition. What could be expected of a race [that is] is foolish and has no knowledge?

Father in heaven, I want to glorify You alone as my everything! Help me to particularly understand this in light of all You have said about Yourself in Your Word.
