The LORD will strike Egypt, and then he will bring healing. For the Egyptians will turn to the LORD, and he will listen to their pleas and heal them. [Isaiah 19.22]
Here we see clearly into the very character and nature of Almighty God.
He is just, "The LORD will strike Egypt..."
He is our Healer, "and then he will bring healing."
And, why does He bring healing? "For the Egyptians will turn to the LORD, and he will listen to their pleas and heal them."
Here in part is the message Jesus spoke of:
It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem: ‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.’ [Luke 24.47]
If famine, disease and trouble are the collective penalty for sin, then healing, deliverance and goodwill are the collective reward for obedience. Deuteronomy 28 attests to the validity of this. To believe anything different is to purposefully misunderstand and confuse the clarity of God's character.
God revealed His character throughout the Bible. God furthermore confirmed His character in the person of Jesus Christ. God's character remains (or, should remain) on display through His people today.
God's people are those whose character reveals God. Jesus made this clear:
But if I do his work, believe in the evidence of the miraculous works I have done, even if you don’t believe me. Then you will know and understand that the Father is in me, and I am in the Father.” [John 10.38]
And then again:
Jesus replied, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you? [John 14.9]
Our lives should do no less than Jesus in this regard:
“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. [John 14.12]
Throughout Bible history, God's enemy has been singular in this goal: to discredit the nature and character of God. Remember our first encounter with Satan as humanity?
The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the Lord God had made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?” [Genesis 3.1]
See my underline? "Did God really say...?"
We should safeguard against misunderstanding God's nature and character. Consequently, we should represent God's nature and character with our own lives. How are we doing?
The only contingency for God's healing is the inseparable act of repentance and faith. Repentance and faith are not independent of one another but go hand-in-hand. One cannot have faith without repentance, and one cannot repent except in faith.
The LORD will strike Egypt, and then he will bring healing. For the Egyptians will turn [IN REPENTANCE] to the LORD, and he will listen to their pleas [OF FAITH] and heal them. [Isaiah 19.22]
Father, Your character is clear in Your Word. And, not just in a few select verses, but in the entirety of the Bible, I can see that You are good and do only good.
