Relationship With God = Dominion

Praise the LORD, who is my rock. He trains my hands for war and gives my fingers skill for battle. He is my loving ally and my fortress, my tower of safety, my rescuer. He is my shield, and I take refuge in him. He makes the nations submit to me. [Psalm 144.1-2]

These are pretty confident words, aren't they?

There is a lesson for us who read this passage about our own confidence in the LORD.

If we are unable to make bold statements like this about our God and our relationship with Him, then something is wrong.

Until we understand that something is wrong with our relationship with God (or any relationship for that matter), nothing will be done to correct it.

So, how do we correct our relationship with God? Just like we correct any relationship - we communicate.

Prayer is our primary means of communication with God. It is worth considering also that worship includes the ingredient of prayer. Likewise, prayer includes the ingredient of worship. Just read the Psalms and see how the two are interrelated!

The purest evidence of relationship with God is dominion. The passage above clearly indicates this fact. And so, to troubleshoot our lives using the implication of this statement: if we lack dominion, then we should seek to repair our relationship with God.

Father, help us to allow Your Word to show us how to live and how to correct our lives when we do not effectively represent Your Kingdom and dominion.
