Do I Trust God?

For the LORD sees clearly what a man does, examining every path he takes. [Proverbs 5.21]

If only we could remain mindful of this fact: God sees everything.

For as much trouble and difficulty that we have deciding what to do and which path to take, this verse today reminds us that God knows and sees everything and is certainly capable of leading us to do the right things and go the right places.

Knowing God's will is perhaps the greatest challenge to every person who would do so.

God's Word is clear about Who God Is and what God's will is for the earth. In a nutshell, God desires that every person in the world be saved and understand the truth. Our first and foremost question when it comes to knowing God's will is to ask ourselves whether or not what we propose to do or where we propose to go is true to the purpose of God's will that everyone be saved and understand the truth. Frankly, if we keep this Kingdom priority first, God has made it very clear that the rest will be easy (Matthew 6.33).

I think the problem comes when we prioritize our needs above God's will. In other words, we so easily get consumed with what we are doing that we inadvertently make it out to be more important than God's Kingdom purpose. There is no hope then for order and clarity from that point forward.

What becomes more important than God's will for all to be saved and understand the truth?

Well... Money, health, children, parents, work, vacation, desires, bills, food, etc.

If God examines every path we take, then He knows when the path we have chosen is a path we have chosen because we doubt His Word.

The overriding question for us to ask ourselves moment by moment is "Do I trust God?"

Father, I want to trust You. I want to do more than just say, "I trust You."
