By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. [Hebrews 11.3]
It takes faith.
In a world whose science pretty much has an explanation for everything, to believe God created everything is widely unacceptable.
But, either the Bible is entirely true or it is entirely unreliable for any other purpose...
To conclude that God created the earth (according to the Bible), but that it occurred over millions of years (according to science) is the beginning of "not faith" as are so many other "explanations" given for those difficult-to-comprehend events which the Bible declares. It's like saying, "I will believe God, but only on my terms and understanding," which is simply not faith and therefore not pleasing to God in any way whatsoever.
It just takes faith. It just takes believing that God is God and there is no other. It takes yielding our reason to the realm of God which transcends every law of the universe and certainly every law of physics (as the Bible documents repeatedly).
How then do we know if we have faith or not? Miracles or suffering persecution. Take your pick: both indicate a higher plane of existence than what is seen. Didn't see that coming, huh? A careful study of Hebrews 11 confirms what is stated here.
Father, help me to just walk and live by faith.
