Truth Beyond The Facts

So the Israelites examined their food, but they did not consult the LORD. [Joshua 9.14]

It was a fact that the Gibeonites' bread was indeed old and moldy. But the truth was that it was old and moldy before they even left home.

If we merely look at the facts without seeking for the Truth, we will likely be fooled.

Facts can be manipulated. 

I have looked at the facts without consulting God and consequently failed to rightly discern the truth of the matter. It is not a good situation - regardless how good it looks at first.

Father, as I process all that is taking place around me today, give me the grace to seek Truth beyond the facts.
