Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority as apostles to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name. [Romans 1.5]
Paul speaks of the privilege and authority given to "apostles." But was not that privilege and authority given to all?
Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. [Mathew 28.18-19]
What Jesus commanded His disciples, He commanded all. That includes us who believe because of the disciples' testimony.
So, we are given privilege and authority.
What are we doing with it???
Father, it is obvious that we today are doing very little with the privilege and authority given by Jesus for the spread of the Gospel. Forgive me (us) for not meeting the expectations put upon us!
