Make Good On The Days You Have Been Given

“This is the message that was written: Mene, mene, tekel, and Parsin. This is what these words mean: Mene means ‘numbered’—God has numbered the days of your reign and has brought it to an end. Tekel means ‘weighed’—you have been weighed on the balances and have not measured up. Parsin means ‘divided’—your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and Persians.” [Daniel 5.25-28]

"You have been measured and weighed and found wanting." The passage above is where that phrase came from.

The thing is, all of us will be accountable for our lives. All of our days are numbered. All of our lives will be weighed for meaning.

In other words, we are expected to do something with the days we have been given.

Many words provide no clearer explanation of this.

Father, please forgive me for not making good with the days You have given me.
