God Controls The Weather

Ask the LORD for rain in the spring, for he makes the storm clouds. And he will send showers of rain so every field becomes a lush pasture. [Zechariah 10.1]

I admit it, there is much more about today's OYCB reading that I do not understand than that I do understand. It is sad too because I recognized many scriptures in today's reading that were about Jesus and, that Jesus Himself quoted.

That said, I fully recognized the passage above for its reference to God and His nature: God controls the weather. God desires that we look to Him for blessings - including the blessings that can be brought by the weather.

God controls the weather. Modern science and meteorology would have us think there are simply weather patterns on the earth today - perhaps even affected by the works of man (climate change). But people of the Bible, God's people, know (or should know) otherwise. In the Book of Job, chapter 38, God makes it particularly clear to Job that He controls the weather. Elsewhere, throughout the Bible, God says and demonstrates that the weather is His doing.

I know what science says and thinks, but I believe the Bible. Godless science has taken its 'exit' from God and will be proven futile in the end.

I realize I am putting a whole lot of stock in the Bible. I want this to only continue and grow.

Father, I don't want to learn more about 'nature' apart from You. I want to marvel at nature as I see You in it! I want to re-evaluate my understanding of nature as the Bible reveals Your complete control of it!
