You rulers make decisions based on bribes; you priests teach God’s laws only for a price; you prophets won’t prophesy unless you are paid. Yet all of you claim to depend on the LORD. “No harm can come to us,” you say, “for the LORD is here among us.” [Micah 3.11]
This prophecy does not have to be directly about the USA or any nation for that matter to know how God feels about what is being scolded here.
This instance was, in context, about judgement against Israel's leaders. However, it is not difficult to ascertain that God does not like twisted justice. He does not tolerate 'prophecy for hire' and certainly not from those who claim to depend on God.
Man, this hits close to home.
Father, help me to fulfill my service to You regardless of financial arrangements! Help me to participate in that which is pure untainted justice and flee from any justice regarding others that becomes financial to me.
