Is It Not Obvious?

So Saul died because he was unfaithful to the LORD. He failed to obey the LORD’s command, and he even consulted a medium instead of asking the LORD for guidance. So the LORD killed him and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse. [1 Chronicles 10.13-14]

Well, maybe it was just Saul's time, right?

No, Saul betrayed the LORD and died for it.

How muddy we have made our religion that we call 'devotion to God.'

There was no doubt, at the time the passage above was written, that Saul's demise was directly tied to his disobedience. It was obvious. And yet, today, we cannot seem to interpret the obvious signs of curses (for disobedience) on our lives and nations!

It is time that we do however - it is time that we repent.

Father, I know that Your blessings and curses have not changed over the course of time. I am grateful You sent Jesus to redeem us from the curses (if we believe), but it is obvious that we have not trusted Him too well or else we would be seeing many more blessings and not so many curses.
