Call On Him!

For what great nation has a god as near to them as the LORD our God is near to us whenever we call on him? [Deuteronomy 4.7]

Was there ever such a call to prayer as great as this?

Wow. I know this was Moses speaking to Israel just before they were to cross the Jordan to take the Promised Land, but the application is the same for all ...who pray.

Having God near to us is great! BUT! We must realize that we must call on Him!

It is simply not enough to 'say' God is our God. We must CALL on Him!

We cannot assume God is always with us - we must call on Him!

Think about it - a child could brag to others and the world, "that's my Dad!" all day long - and that's good... But how good is it really if that child never speaks to his or her Dad?

Call on Him!

Father, I am calling on You today! You are  my God and there is no other. You are my everything. Forgive me for not more actively pursuing You! Thank You for hearing my prayer...
