What Are You Talking About?

We cannot stop telling about everything we have seen and heard.” [Acts 4.20]

What are you talking about?

In the case of Peter and John, it was about Jesus the Messiah. They had seen and heard a LOT! They had witnessed what God-in-the-flesh did on earth. They had experienced the will of God firsthand. They had walked and ministered alongside the King of Glory. They had heard His teachings and they had heard His instructions. They knew what He said to do and saw Him do it Himself as a demonstration for them to see. He told them directly to do as He had done. He told them directly that all who believed in Him would do as He had done.

Wow, the disciples had seen and heard it all.

Wow, we have the privilege of reading their accounts of what it was like.

Wow, we are included in everything Jesus told them to do. We are to look and act like Jesus just as the first disciples did.

But wow, our lives don't look much like Jesus...

Father, there is, no doubt, a huge disconnect between today's "followers" and Jesus. Forgive me for settling for anything less than mirroring Jesus with my life!
