Wisdom Is Found In Reviewing Godly History

Those who are wise will take all this to heart; they will see in our history the faithful love of the LORD. [Psalm 107.43]

What will the wise take to heart?

That people, regardless what situation they were in, and what circumstances got them there, when they called on the LORD for help, He rescued them and changed their circumstances.

In other words, they will see that the LORD is good and that His faithful love endures forever (vs 1)!

True God-followers MUST review our history! It started in the Garden of Eden. It continued on with Abraham, Moses, David, and Jesus (God's very own Son). But it did not stop there! It continued with Jesus' disciples and the Apostle Paul. But it did not stop there! The history of God-followers continues today with those who call on the Name of the LORD through the work of Jesus.

Our history is rich and full of miracles. Our history clearly reveals God's intention to bless obedience.

Of course, our history reveals the work of our enemy as well - the one intent upon accusing wrongdoers so that he might inflict pain and suffering (the curses). However, when God's true followers focus on God's blessing for obedience, there is no need to rehearse Satan's work, because our focus upon the faithful love of God is where wisdom is found!

There is no need to study the works of the devil! There is no need to study the counterfeit in order to recognize it. No, instead we must study and saturate ourselves with the True God and His Works. And then, the counterfeit works of our enemy will be obvious (but unimportant)!

Father, I purpose today to focus on the history of those who served You and to see in their lives Your faithful love at work! God, You are good! Your are our Righteousness, our Sanctifier, our Peace, You are there. You are our Healer, Provider, Shepherd - the flag that flies over us: our Banner. You are our Forgiver. You are our Advocate, our Refuge, and our Strength. You are our Defender and Protector. You are our Fortress and our Shield! You are God and there is no other! Yahweh is Your Name and You alone are great! You alone are to be feared. You alone are to be trusted. You alone are to be worshiped.
