Yes, God will bless us, and people all over the world will fear him. [Psalm 67.7]
Is this not exactly what happened to Israel when God delivered them from Egypt?
It is simply not enough to have a relationship with God AND NOT HAVE A TESTIMONY OF HIS POWER!.
Any time any one has had a real relationship with God, that person is known and feared. Think of the prophets in the Bible.
From these facts, we might correctly deduce that if we, as Christians, individually and corporately, are not feared because of Whom we serve, then we should reconsider our devotion.
Does the world fear God today? No. Why? Because there is no testimony of His overwhelming power in the lives of His followers.
Is the answer above because God is not real? Or is it because Christians are not real?
The thing is, God has not changed Who He Is. So, if God has not changed, and the world does not fear Him, whose fault is it? The burden lies upon His followers. It is our shortcoming that our relationship with Him does not invoke fear in the world, It is our fault that God's power is not demonstrated in the world.
So what do we do? We press into Him. We depend upon Him with no hope in any help from man or the world's systems. We put our faith on the line. We allow God to do what He does best - take care of His own. We give allegiance to Him with no plan B.
When I think of all this implies upon me personally, I find myself withdrawing from these statements. I find my faith is tested when I think of depending on God with no "safely net."
God help us.
Father, I have painted myself in a corner once again today. I must consider what it means to trust fully in You and leave no room in my testimony for the world to claim input...
