A Great Place To Be

But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the LORD rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The LORD himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” [Exodus 14.13-14]

The Israelites had no idea what they were about to witness. One of the greatest display's of God intent to preserve His Chosen People is about to happen. Sure, they had seen the terrible plagues upon Egypt, but, perhaps they found themselves thinking that those events could have been 'natural' and, as such, circumstantial. But now they were in a corner - they were quite literally and geographically trapped. There was nowhere to go except into the sea or into the grasp of their enemies.

What a great place to be!

But we can't know that, can we? All we can do is trust it.

So, that is my question to myself today! 

Do I trust that God will fight for me?

Father, I want to be found trusting You.
