Joseph Knew His Brothers

So Joseph sent his brothers off, and as they left, he called after them, “Don’t quarrel about all this along the way!” [Genesis 45.24]

Joseph apparently knew a thing or two about his brothers. They, like so many siblings, were prone to arguments.

One would think, after all the good news of Joseph's outcome, and then the huge blessing of being loaded with gifts from Pharaoh for the move to Egypt, that Joseph's brothers would be in high spirits and not argue. But Joseph knew better.

We must remember that Joseph was a manager of the highest regard. He had keen insight into how things and people work. He knew that, even with all the blessings his brothers had been given (including being forgiven), that they would find something to fuss about.

I understand this being a sibling myself. It is all too easy to get sideways with a sibling!

That's all. Just an observation today about Joseph's insight into life...

Father, thank You today for more insight into the life of Joseph. This year in the OYCB, it seems I have seen Joseph in a much different light than ever before. Thank You!
