Life Goal

For our Lord Jesus Christ has shown me that I must soon leave this earthly life, so I will work hard to make sure you always remember these things after I am gone. [2 Peter 1.14]

I had to duplicate my response today - this scripture would allow me to nothing less.

Unlike Peter, I have no specific termination date on my earthly walk (not yet anyway). But I know this - I am not as young as I used to be.

Is not our most important goal on earth to live like Christ: 

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.” [Luke 4.18-19]

Wow.

Father, You are so good to me. Thank You for speaking to me and continually drawing me to Yourself. Thank You for showing me that I, like Peter, should have real and eternal goals while here on earth.
