What Do You Do For The Lord?

So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. [1 Corinthians 15.58]

This is such good word.

Paul has been addressing some pretty touchy subjects in this letter to the Church in Corinth. Some of it is just difficult to grasp. Speaking on tongues, prophecy, and his little blurb about women remaining silent in the church are all laced with considerations relative to culture and timing. There are many interpretations about what this all means - and some, quite passionate.

However, this scripture noted above is unmistakable in its meaning. We are to strive to be strong and immovable! We are to work with enthusiasm! Why? Because all that we do for the Lord has value.

All that we do for the Lord has value.

Once again, ALL THAT WE DO FOR THE LORD HAS VALUE!

The question is, what do you do for the Lord?

Each of us should ask this question and be real in our answer. Do we do anything for the Lord? Is there anything that we engage in on a regular basis that is purely for Him?

We have opportunities every day to work for the Lord. However, nothing stands out more to me than the work of prayer.

And yet, prayer is the one thing the enemy tries to deceive us to believe is the least important (even though we know our Lord Jesus was a man given to much prayer).

So, this is exactly where, in the realm of prayer, that we need to start off being strong and immovable!

Note: We will fall less victim to the lies of the enemy about the "un-importance" of our prayer when we make our prayer more about others than ourselves!

Father, help us to pray. Help us to resolve to be strong and immovable in this one thing and quickly realize all the potential it unlocks!
