The Religion of Tolerance and Diversity Is Un-American

...and you will know that I am the LORD. For you have refused to obey my decrees and regulations; instead, you have copied the standards of the nations around you.” [Ezekiel 11.12]

This verse stood out to me today - particularly the last phrase in it.

The USA has been, and is, a country of immigrants. That is a good thing.

However, as a country of immigrants, the USA originally formed an "American" way of life. That way of life involved the worship of the God of the Bible. Those who came to this country generally adopted the ways of the country. The USA was known as a Christian nation.

Over time though, the fires of Christianity have grown dim. Oh, there is a shell of religion in the USA, but the life inside is largely gone.

Consequently, the USA has evolved into a nation of tolerance and diversity - losing all its own unique original Christian identity and instead copying the standards of nations around it. Sound familiar? It should because that is exactly what happens when God's people refuse to obey His decrees and regulations...

The country that at first offered freedom to worship God in solidarity has now re-defined itself to embrace tolerance and diversity - in other words, anything goes. Nothing could be more un-American.

As one considers the current events in the USA, the question begs to be asked, "Is there any hope?"

It all depends upon God's people:

Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. [2 Chronicles 7.14]

God's people (not those who are not God's people) must repent. There is no other way or hope for revival. God's people are not tasked with fighting, rioting, and making a bunch of noise - they are tasked to the prayer of repentance.

Father, forgive us for adopting the erroneous theology of tolerance and diversity. Forgive us for giving up our identity as a nation - as a people - and instead copying the standards of the rest of the world.
