“Because of the violence you did to your close relatives in Israel, you will be filled with shame and destroyed forever. [Obadiah 1.10]
This was part of a message given by Obadiah to Edom.
It is not wrong to think God has the same feelings for any and all who oppose His own even today (both Israel and those who have become part of God's family through faith in Jesus Christ).
If God protected His own in Old Testament times, He will do the same in New Testament times.
I think it is safe to believe that God will even retaliate against His enemies (those who do not bless His followers and are consequently their enemies).
Why? Because God is God and He is a Protector to all who call upon Him and trust Him.
Father, I trust You. I believe You are indeed my Protector, my Refuge, and my Strength. You are for me and not against me. Help me to get this - to really get this - and walk out the faith I have declared here today.
