Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message to these bones and say, ‘Dry bones, listen to the word of the LORD! This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Look! I am going to put breath into you and make you live again! I will put flesh and muscles on you and cover you with skin. I will put breath into you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’” [Ezekiel 37.4-6]
This is really no different than what Jesus taught us to pray:
May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. [Matthew 6.10]
In both instances, God instructs His own to declare His will.
I think it is safe to conclude that we are to speak on behalf of God! We are not so much taught to ask God concerning His will, but to declare it. We have all the information we need. We have heaven as our standard!
This is not to say we are never to ask God anything - Jesus Himself taught, "ask, and it will be given unto you..."
However, concerning God's will for our lives and the earth, we KNOW God's will. It is revealed in everything we know about heaven.
So, like God instructed Ezekiel, and Jesus instructed His men, we are to declare God's will!
We know God desires life, because there is no death in heaven. We know God desires health because no sickness exists in heaven. We know God desires restored relationships because there is no dissension in heaven. We know God desires provision because there is no lack in heaven.
We, like Ezekiel and Jesus' followers are to declare God's will: "May Your Kingdom come! May Your will be done on earth AS IT IS IN HEAVEN!"
Can circumstances change? Ezekiel replied to God, "You know!" But just the same, Ezekiel spoke to the dry bones! It was God's responsibility to make them live again - but it was Ezekiel's obedient declaration that set it in motion! Let's speak God's will and see what happens!
We need to see this and be mindful of it when we pray for others! We need to stop begging God for what we already know His will is (because we know how it is in heaven and start to declare His will, "May your Kingdom come. May Your will be done AS IT IS IN HEAVEN!"
Father, help us to get it regarding what we pray and how we pray it! Help us to understand that we are to speak on Your behalf, "May Your Kingdom come. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heave."
