Not A Jew? Not A Problem!

In that day there will be an altar to the LORD in the heart of Egypt, and there will be a monument to the LORD at its border. It will be a sign and a witness that the LORD of Heaven’s Armies is worshiped in the land of Egypt. When the people cry to the LORD for help against those who oppress them, he will send them a savior who will rescue them. The LORD will make himself known to the Egyptians. Yes, they will know the LORD and will give their sacrifices and offerings to him. They will make a vow to the LORD and will keep it. The LORD will strike Egypt, and then he will bring healing. For the Egyptians will turn to the LORD, and he will listen to their pleas and heal them. [Isaiah 19.19-22]

Egypt was not Israel. All of God's plans and dealings were mostly focused on Israel - on the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

But here is what is interesting about this passage of scripture: God said He would very much have relationship with non-Israelites! Yes, they would be dealt with for sin, but they would find blessings when they repented and turned to God.

If ever I felt secure in not being Jew and having a relationship with God, today is that day! Yes!

Father (and yes, I call You Father in confidence), thank You that You have made "family" out of those of us who are not Jewish. Thank You that You have included us in Your blessing and redemption. Thank You that we even have this example of Your inclusion of Egypt as all the reason we need to have the same confidence! Thank You!
