We Are Proud And Arrogant

King Jotham became powerful because he was careful to live in obedience to the LORD his God. [2 Chronicles 27.6]

It doesn't get much clearer than this: when one lives in obedience to God, things go well.

Why don't we just believe this?

I will tell why! Because we don't want to admit that our lives are in disobedience. Because we don't want to invest the time and energy to inspect our lives to seek our and forsake the deep hidden sins that may not be obvious. Because we are PROUD and arrogant.

Father, help me to constantly be on guard for pride in my life and flee from it!
