Let all that I am praise the LORD; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! [Psalm 103.1-5]
To not forget, first one has to know something. In other words, one cannot forget what he does not first know!
But my question is this: Do we know the facts stated above? If we don't, then we need to get acquainted with these facts because they are the truth about a real relationship with God. Said another way, if our relationship with God does not reveal the facts above, then how can we say we are really in a relationship with God?
I can 'say' I have a relationship with the President of the United States all day long, but if I never receive any confirmation of that relationship - no phone calls, no visits, no invitations to the White House, no special privileges... then DO I really have a relationship with the President?
The answer to the question above is NO.
And yet, so many of us claim Christianity - claim a relationship with God - with nothing to show for it!
Did I just go there? Yes, I did. It's time we get real and stop living in our religious phony-land and start living in the Promised Land (where there are benefits)!
Father, may it be that those who are genuinely in a relationship with You reveal the benefits of being in that relationship! May Your will be done in earth as it is in heaven!
