Memorial Day 2017

We have happy memories of the godly, but the name of a wicked person rots away. [Proverbs 10.7]

Happy memories are what we have of the godly. And, who are the godly?

Jesus said, "There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." [John 15.13] I would say this is the definition of godliness: pure, unadulterated love.

On this Memorial Day 2017 may we all find happy memories in knowing we have the testimonies of those who loved us so much that they would lay down their lives for us.

The Kingdom work of Jesus Christ is carried forward through time by those who followed His supreme example in giving their all on behalf of others.

It is a worthwhile endeavor today to consider all who have made the quality of life we enjoy today possible.

Father, let there be happy memories today of those whose lives mattered greatly in our spiritual and political freedom. Thank You for Jesus! Thank You for every soul whose life has affected my well-being by giving up their own. Help me to remember...
