Faithlessness Is The Problem

Jesus said to them, “You faithless people! How long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.” [Mark 9.19]

Jesus said, “You faithless and corrupt people! How long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me.” [Matthew 17.17]

Jesus said, “You faithless and corrupt people! How long must I be with you and put up with you?” Then he said to the man, “Bring your son here.” [Luke 9.41]

"Why could we not heal the boy?" is the question to the three answers above.

In regard to the topic of "healing," this is the only reference I am aware of in the Bible of Jesus specifically addressing the problem of an unsuccessful attempt at healing. Recorded in three of the four Gospels, Jesus is on record of having defined the problem quite pointedly as a lack of faith. Mark further records Jesus to have attributed the problem to prayerlessness as well.

And yet, today, we have volume upon volume of unscriptural writings attempting to convince us that when our attempts at healing (or any miracle for that matter) are unsuccessful, our faithlessness is NOT the problem. Does anyone besides me see a problem with this?

Father, help us to take the responsibility that is ours as Ambassadors of Christ in the earth today and be willing to admit our faithlessness when we are unsuccessful in representing Your Kingdom effectively.
