But in the end, the holy people of the Most High will be given the kingdom, and they will rule forever and ever. [Daniel 7.18]
In Daniel's vision of the four beasts, I suppose there are unlimited speculations as to what each of the four beasts represent. As surely as one person might draw a conclusion as to what they mean, another might draw an altogether different conclusion.
I like the verse above because it does not depend upon the interpretation of the four beasts. As a sentence, it is fully capable of standing independent of all the unknowns of the previous discussions. "But in the end..." carries a certain definitive assurance that there is a more important fact to follow. That fact is that those who truly follow God will inherit the kingdom forever.
So, regardless of what we comprehend the four beasts to mean, the "end" will be the same. The holy people of the Most High will dominate victorious.
Father, while I have what I believe is some understanding of the four beasts, I have every assurance that Your devoted followers will reign "in the end." Thank You.
