“This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘I will bring disaster upon this city and its surrounding towns as I promised, because you have stubbornly refused to listen to me.’” [Jeremiah 19.15]
While this verse indeed has historical meaning, I wish to look at the obvious character-telling aspects of it. God does not tolerate disobedience. Bad things happen to those who ignore God, and the opposite is true for those who listen to God.
Bad things happen to those who ignore God.
Good things happen to those who listen to God.
Bad things happen to those who ignore God.
Good things happen to those who listen to God.
Bad things happen to those who ignore God.
Good things happen to those who listen to God.
Father, help all who read Your Word understand that You never intended for mankind to feel like we live in a world of random goodwill or misfortune. Help us to re-program our thinking to understand that Your blessings are promised to those Who seek You and disastrous outcomes are promised to those who do not.
