As for me, I will certainly not sin against the Lord by ending my prayers for you. And I will continue to teach you what is good and right. [1 Samuel 12.23]
Is this the heart of a prophet? In answer to this question we have two considerations: Samuel was a prophet, and this is indeed what Samuel said.
So, yes, the heart of a prophet is to pray for and teach the people.
Father, as I consider this verse today and the context in which it is found, help me to be as committed to prayer and teaching as Samuel!
